Great Ingredients

Make Great Soda.

Burst of flavours

Callister Craft Sodas are made by us, using high quality, locally sourced ingredients because great ingredients make great soda! Made with real juices, real fruit, and real cane sugar, our craft sodas are made in small batches, full of flavour,  and always fresh. Focused on unique combinations and a few classics, we wanted to create sodas that we actually wanted to drink without compromising on non-alcoholic options.  Bright and bold, they’re ideal for a special cocktail or mixing with spirits. For the kids. For you. For everyone.

Callister Brewing is named after historic Callister Park. The park was at the heart of the East Vancouver community and local sporting events. The sports stadium, established in 1921 (originally as Con Jones Park) on Renfrew St. at Oxford (across from the PNE), was home to the Pacific Coast Soccer League, baseball, lacrosse, rodeos, and demolition derby. Chris’ grandfather, Ed Lay, was its caretaker from 1949 to 1970 and lived in a suite beneath the stands with his son (Chris’ father) and wife. Callister Park still exists today as a city park.

Chris Lay – Co-founder and Jack of all Trades. Chris began homebrewing in 2012, which spurred his interest toward starting a craft brewery. He created, owned, and operated Callister Brewing for 10 years in East Van with Diana, and learned a few things along the way. As an entrepreneur in digital media and education for the previous 16 years, he brings a wealth of creativity, design, and operational expertise to his work.

Diana – Co-founder and Soda Crafter. Diana is inspired by innovation and DIY culture. In 2012, she began pursuing sustainable agriculture and homesteading. Homebrewing was a natural fit and she decided to turn her focus to opening a co-operative, collaborative craft brewery, drafting the business plan in 2013 while studying sustainable agriculture at the UBC Farm. Over 10 years, she created, owned, and operated Callister Brewing with Chris in East Van, where she launched Callister Craft Soda to offer something special alongside their beers. She crafts all of the recipes for Callister and seeks out innovative flavours that excite and intrigue.
